On March 7th, Google Shopping announced the introduction of artificial intelligence image search "Vision Match" and the expansion of AR beauty and virtual try on tools to enhance the online shopping experience. Vision Match "has now been launched on mobile search platforms in the United States, allowing users to search for clothing using their own descriptive vocabulary and receive the best match recommendations from AI. This feature was first launched as an experimental project in 2023 and is now officially open to the public. Users can input their ideas in the search bar or select "Create and shop" in the "Shopping" option to experience this feature.
Google Shopping has also upgraded its AR beauty trial tool, allowing users to try multiple cosmetics simultaneously. This week, American users can try lipstick, eye black, eye shadow and eyeliner in products of ELF, Fenty, Glossier and other brands. When in use, users only need to search for specific makeup looks, such as "soft charm", and select "see your makeup look" to conduct virtual makeup trials.
In addition, Google has further expanded its virtual try on experience, which will be launched in 2023. Previously, this feature was mainly used to showcase the effect of clothing on different body models. Now, it covers hundreds of brands of pants and skirts, with sizes ranging from XXS to XXL, providing consumers with a more intuitive reference before purchasing.
Since 2023, Google has continued to use generative AI to enhance its shopping features, such as adding AI summaries to search results to help users quickly access key product information. This update marks a new step for Google in empowering the shopping experience with AI.
